Prepare For Your Call To Ministry

It is impossible to miss. Pick up a paper, turn on the TV – wherever you are, just glance around; you will see a culture that has no regard for selfless ministry, no reason for giving everything to take up and bear the cross. The world we live in today has pressured many college students to pursue a future of ease by accumulating significant knowledge in a secular field, securing a good job, and financial investing.
Granted, preparing for the future is wise. But thankfully we have a richer, fuller future to prepare for than merely a smooth retirement. That is why a child from a Christian home who decides to pursue a life of ministry often brings joy to his or her parents. As Paul wrote to Timothy, “If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work.” (I Tim. 3:1) Author Os Guinness defines the call of God as “the truth that God calls us to Himself so decisively that everything we are, everything we do, and everything we have is lived out as a response to His summons and service.”
Bible-believing Christians would all agree that there is more to life than accumulating money for the future. With our opportunity for spiritual harvest coming to an end, we need to prepare for the Lord’s evaluation of how we have used our lives to advance His kingdom. If you are leaning toward studying for Christian ministry, praise God! You are preparing for an eternal future of permanent fruit and reward, and the resulting work will bring great joy to the Lord’s heart – as well as to your own.
We would love to hear from any students interested in preparing for Christian ministry. If the Lord is calling you into this kind of work, feel free to call us at 877-CHAMP-47 to speak with an admissions counselor.
