Comments From Visitors To Our Campus

What a great joy and refreshing time it was for us last week as we spent a few days there on the campus of Champion Baptist College. The Lord is using you and we are anticipating even greater things for you all. I am excited about the possibility of some our young people attending in the near future. Our kids were very excited and stirred as a result of College Days; I only wish we had attended the first part of the week during the Camp Meeting.

Your hospitality was first class as usual and we are thankful for the great accommodations. My heart was stirred and spoken to by the Lord. May God bless you as you serve Him.

This past fall, I visited Champion Baptist College. On the way there, I had basically decided that I wasn’t going there for college. But, as soon as I stepped out of the car, God gave me peace that this was the place for me. Everyone seemed to be on fire for God and genuinely happy to be there. Their excitement wasn’t fake. I knew Champion was where God wanted me to be.

I was very impressed with the spirit of the staff and the heart of the president, Dr. Mitchell, as he spoke in chapel. I really believe that God is going to do something special with Champion Baptist College. CBC is very professional and first-class, yet it has a very sweet spirit. As a youth pastor, I try to guide my teens to Christian college, and it is so important to me that the school is real. I felt in my heart that CBC is real.

Recently, I visited Champion with a couple of my friends. I was blown away. I literally tell people, “You have to experience it yourself!” I feel like a recruiter, even though I am not even a student myself yet. I remember sitting in the Wednesday night service, and the teen choir got up to sing. The music spoke to me more than I can ever say. I sat there and just looked around. I could not believe what I was experiencing. I was trying really hard to hold back the tears; but my friends, Kayla and Mary, looked at me, and I think I lost it.
I could not help but just be….overwhelmed.

I absolutely love the spirit at Champion. I have never in my life been to a place more on fire or more real than Champion Baptist College and Gospel Light Baptist Church. The students and all the staff were so welcoming, and I really felt like they wanted me there!

I heard of Champion Baptist College in 2004 when it was an anticipation but not yet open to the public. I had heard Bro. Capaci preach many times and knew that anything he started would be nothing short of the best. When my friend Meranda said she was going to attend the college, I knew it must be a good, godly place to be. In January 2006, she invited my family and me to go to College Days, so we drove up to see the college and all it had to offer. I immediately knew that this is where I wanted to study. The atmosphere was so welcoming, the professors so knowledgeable, and the presence of God so apparent that I filled out the application before I left.
