How did you decide you wanted to go into teaching?
I completed my two-year secretarial degree, and I just believed that I was finished until I went home and surrendered my life to full-time ministry. After that, I felt that the Lord would have me finish my bachelor’s degree in education.
Are any Bible verses particularly meaningful to you?
Yes, Ecclesiastes 3:1, 11 – “To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:”
“He hath made everything beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.”
What kind of personal training have the faculty and staff given you?
I’ve received a lot of counsel from both Dr. Capaci and Dr. Mitchell. They both have taught me the importance of having a personal relationship with the Lord.
How has that helped you grow as an individual?
It’s been that foundation that has helped me in every area of my life. When you have that relationship, everything else falls into place.
With school, work, and other various activities, how do you make time for God?
I found that the best time for me to spend time with the Lord is at night. Yes, constant prayer and reading the Bible are a necessity, but the intimate time that I spend with God is at night.
What would you say to someone considering Champion, who has never been here before?
If you want to be apart of something real, exciting, and fun and if you are serious about serving God, then this is the place for you. It has certainly been a life-changing experience for me!
