As a veteran basketball player for the Tigers, what have been some valuable things you have learned from the team?
One thing I would have to say I have learned is time management. Time management is critical with school, ministry, money, basketball, and of course my girlfriend (which can take up a little of your time). I would also have to say one the most valuable things I have learned are not to judge an opponent by the way they look. We once underestimated a team in Tennessee, and ended up losing the game. Lesson learned: “Play as hard as I can and I won’t have to worry about it.”

With the busy schedule of a Bible college student, how do you schedule your personal devotional time?
It all goes back to time management. Leaders are masters at managing their time so I try my best to get up and do them before school in the mornings. I’m not saying I’m the best leader, but one of my goals is to better manage my time.

Who is your favorite teacher this year?
My favorite teacher this year would have to be Pastor Capaci. This is the first year I have had him as a teacher and I have definitely learned a lot.

When you first came here, what impressed you most about Champion?
I would have to say the thing that impressed me most was the closeness of the Student/Staff relationships. I was able to go soul winning with Bro. Brett Capaci and grow closer to all the staff through the years. That is one thing that definitely sets Champion apart.

What is one financial tip you would give to someone getting ready to go to college?
The main financial tip I would give someone preparing for college is don’t do what I did. I got a new car right before I came to college, and I poured a lot of money into it, which I wished I had today. The tip I would give is to focus on your future and what God wants for you, and see if that lines up with spending the money on something you “gotta have.” If you’re a young man who’s thinking about coming to Champion or any other college, focus on the future of your family and start making preparations for it. If you’re truly seeking God’s will about Champion, try to save and be as frugal as possible now, and it will really help to prepare you for your college experience.
