Random Fact: I firmly believe that there is no logical explanation for why a “ham”burger is called a hamburger…it’s not made of ham and it’s not from Hamburg, Germany…it should therefore be called a “beef”-burger.

Do you have a favorite class?
Yes. I would have to say that my favorite class that I have taken while here at Champion would have to be “Fundamentals of Speech” with Bro. Clint Fredericks.

Inquiring minds want to know...what is dorm life like?
Dorm life is the best because it teaches you to get along well with others, you can have many crazy times, and you can really get to know other people a lot better…especially your roommates: Rob, Ken, and Caleb!

What do you plan to do when you graduate from Champion?
I am unsure of what the Lord has in store for me as of yet, but I do know that I will be preaching in some capacity after I graduate from Champion.

If someone were to ask you how to prepare for Bible College, what would you suggest?
First of all, I would suggest working a summer job and saving as much as possible. Secondly, do not wait until you arrive at college to begin developing a real, personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Llastly, if at all possible, bring a car!

Are any Bible verses particularly meaningful to you?
Yes, John 17:25: “O righteous Father, the world hath not known thee: but I have known thee, and these have known that thou hast sent me.”

Have you taken any missions trips?
No, but I will be going on one this coming August to Australia.

How are you paying for school?
With money I'm making by working a great part-time job after school.

How did you know you were called to preach?
I was called to preach at Indian Creek Baptist Camp in the summer of 2000, under the preaching of Dr. Eric Capaci. I had felt the Lord dealing with me about preaching all week long, but in my heart, I was still resisting His will for my life. Finally, on my birthday, June 24th, 2000, I gave up my will to His will and surrendered to preach.

What have you learned about preaching so far?
I have learned much about preaching but ultimately two things. The first thing I have learned about preaching is that people should never walk away from a service thinking “what a sermon” but “what a Savior!” Secondly, I have learned that I do not know that much about preaching!

Why do you think someone should consider attending Champion?
First of all, Champion is a very unique place. It is more like a family than anything else, which is one reason why I believe we are prospering and growing like we are. Secondly, the opportunities to grow and get involved here are incredible. You will get to experience things in the ministry that some have never experienced. Thirdly, the availability of the staff at Champion is a great blessing. Any time you need help, or have a question, or just need to hear, “I love you," they are never too busy to for you. If you are considering coming to Champion, then I invite you to pray and seek the Lord’s will about this special place.
