How did you come to know Jesus as your Saviour?
When I was eight years old, in a junior church, I felt the tug of the Holy Spirit and I knew that I needed a Saviour. My Sunday school teacher led me to the Lord.

How did you end up at Champion?
I met Dr. Capaci through a friend of mine at a preaching conference in Texas. He mentioned his plans to start a college, but it didn’t even have a name at that point! I later received more information through the mail and visited the campus during my junior year in high school. I knew then without a doubt that this was where God wanted me to be.

What is the best thing about Champion?
I have been here since the beginning of the college, when we had just a few students. Now we have three hundred students, but it still feels like a family.

Have you made some good friends here on-campus?
Yes, I have made some lifelong friends here at Champion. They have been there through good times and bad; I feel like we will still be friends twenty years from now.

Did you have a favorite class?
My favorite class was “Practical Keys for Effective Ministry.” In that class, Brother Jim Brown brought the ministry to our level; he helped us realize that we can do great things for the Lord.

What would you suggest to someone considering Champion?
Come prepared to be changed, because it is impossible to be the same after you have been touched by this ministry. You will be challenged on a daily basis to do more and be more for the cause of Christ.

How has your time at Champion prepared you for life?
I learned many things in the four years that I have been here; but best of all, I learned the importance of having a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. No amount of training, preparation, talent, or character will substitute for personally knowing and walking with Jesus Christ.
