Champion Baptist College offers intercollegiate basketball for men. The team will play a full schedule of games against a variety of opponents.
The Tiger basketball team is a member of the ACCA but does not compete in a particular league or conference, which makes Champion an independent team. Because of this, the Tigers play a wide array of teams including NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association), NAIA (National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics), NJCAA (National Junior College Athletic Association), NCCAA (National Christian College Athletic Association) and the ACCA (Association of Christian College Athletics).
Within the ACCA, the Tigers may participate in the post season tournament of a chance at a National Championship. Eligibility is based on the win/loss record and strength of schedule. For more information about the end-of-the-year tournament, season stats, and more, go to the ACCA web site.
In its short seven year career, the Champion Tigers have made seven ACCA National Tournament appearances. They have won three National Championships in 2007, 2009, and 2010. Champion has produced one ACCA Player of the year, two ACCA tournament MVPs, six different All-Tournament team players, six ACCA All-Americans, and eighteen different ACCA Academic All-Americans.
Champion Baptist College is coached by Eric Capaci. Coach Capaci has coached the Gospel Light Lions high school basketball team for over fifteen years. He has led them in winning seven state championships over the course of his coaching career. Champion is excited about the future of the Tiger basketball program under the leadership of Coach Capaci.
